Oh we all love Lucy, but boy was she rotten! Lucy and her companion, Ethel, have done things from wallpapering a room, to working in a chocolate factory, to stealing John Wayne's footprints from Grauman's Chinese Theater. Lucy's fame started in 1943. When she became the redhead of Hollywood. Sure, there were other redheads such as Maureen O'hara, Loretta Young or Red Skelton, But Lucy was the top. Lucy's quote; 'The secret of staying young is live honestly, eat slowly, and lie about your age.'
Hey everyone. So I fixed the blog and there is now a comments box under each single post. There is a maximum of 50 comments per post. To get to the point of today's fun fact/bio. Natalie Wood. Natalie Wood was a very, very, very, very, very gorgeous actress. The title is My Name Twin because we both have the same first name, Natalie. Natalie Wood recalls that she had a mad crush on Robert Wagner, as a child. Later on, Natalie married Robert Wagner. The couple were married for 5 years and then split up which turned into a divorce. Natalie married Richard Gregson 7 years after her divorce from Wagner. She was married to Gregson for 3 years until she divorced him and married Wagner a second time. During her marriage to Wagner, she was on a boat trip with him, Christopher Walken and the boat captain, Dennis Dinghy one day in Santa Monica, California, when she drowned to death. No one knows how she entered the water, if she fell, she was swimming, committed suicide or it was murder. Her bod...
I don't know about you, but to me the most graceful actress in the 50s movies has to be Grace Kelly. Grace is known for beauty, style and acting. Grace Kelly believeit or not. Started without anything. She was a normal kid. Grace Kelly is her birth name. Grace Kelly married Prince Rainier of Monaco. She had three children and sadly died at the age of 53. Grace made only 11 movies in her career but is an amazing one of the most memorable actresses and one of the most honored and remembered icons of classic film history.
Hello, everyone. Sorry haven't posted in awhile. So. I have been working on a comments box so you guys can tell me what you think of my blog 😉. Under the recent posts section on the right side of the page, you will see some social media icons. I added those so you can share and pin this website via Pinterest, Facebook, and Google +. For the facts and photo part of today I would like to tell you all about an actress some of you don't know. Her name was Paulette Goddard. Paulette Goddard started her career as a Ziegfeld Girl at 13 yrs old. Goddard grew into Broadway and married fellow actor and mentor, Charlie Chaplin. Charlie Chaplin is known for his beady eyes and square mustache. Paulette recalls though, he was a sweet man. She later divorced Chaplin and married actor Burgess Meredith our years after Second Chorus, in whish they were co-starred together along with Artie Shaw and Fred Astaire. Paulette continued acting until her death in 1990. Paulette was a beautiful, kind and great...
I found this movie a couple weeks ago, called My Sister Eileen. It had Janet Leigh, Jack Lemmon, and Betty Garrett. It is well worth watching. It's a musical comedy/romance. If you notice while Janet Leigh and the others are dancing on the bandstand, she isn't wearing heels anymore. They are flats. (She was wearing heels in the beginning of that scene.) So check it out. Well worth it.
If you are on this blog, you most likely know who Judy Garland is. She is known for her role in The Wizard of Oz. (1939) Judy was aslo known for her very mature and deep singing voice. When Judy was 2 yrs old, she sang Jingle Bells at her church. Then of course she had another name...Frances Ethel Gumm. Yep, not too glamourous, am I right? When Frances was still young, her and her two older sisters started a sing and dance routine. They joined vaudeville and in late 1934 changed their names to 'The Garland Sisters'. Frances chose the name 'Judy' from a popular song by Hoagy Carmichael. Judy Garland and her sisters eventually parted ways due to the oldest sister getting married and flying to Nevada. Judy Garland is one of my most favorite actresses and singers of all time.
Hi everyone! This is Natalie. And if you are like me, you love the thirties, forties, and fifties. Ahhh. Back then, everything was fun and exciting. New things like the dishwasher, and television...Amenities we don't give a thought to today. Oh. And when you turned twelve or thirteen, mom said you could go to parties. And one was just next week! You went downtown and bought a party dress with satin and organza, you bought a gift or two, and finally the day came. You were picked up in a taxi and drove through the town to your friends party. Oh! They're playing the Jitterbug! The most popular dance of the year! You wow the guests by dancing to the song with the guest of honor. See? Fun back then was pure fun. That's why I created this blog. Here is a collage of some favorite stars.
